Latch Key Parent Information
2006-2007 School Year

1. Program provides unstructured before and after school care for children in kindergarten through fifth grade.  Sixth grade students may participate at the elementary school closest to their middle school.  Parents must follow the same guidelines and register at the elementary school.  All school rules apply. 
   
2. Program operates on all 180 school days and starts at 6:30 a.m. until beginning of the school day and lasts from the end of the school day until 5:45 p.m.  Services are provided for all-day kindergarten at the school of residence upon returning from McIlvaine ECC. Services are not provided for the half-day of kindergarten which the child does not attend nor in the event of inclement weather resulting in early dismissal.  The parent will be called and asked to pick up the child as soon as possible.  Service is provided for scheduled abbreviated days and is available at regular time in the event of school delays at no extra charge.

4. All charges must be paid in advance.  Monthly payments must be paid on or before the first school day of each month.  Please note that the afternoon daily snack is now included in the price of afternoon Latch Key and is no longer an option.  "Shorter" months because of vacations will not be pro-rated.

5. A surcharge must be paid if students are not picked up on time (according to school clock).  The surcharge will be $5.00 per day if the child is picked up between 5:46 and 6:00 p.m.  It will be increased to $10.00 per day if the child is picked up after 6:00 p.m., and $4.00 for every 10 minutes after that.  All surcharges must be paid at the time of payment for the next period of care.
   
6. Registration forms may be picked up at the school office.  Children must be registered and fees paid before services are provided.
